I am Liv.
In June 2013, I went to Zambia as an ICS volunteer. ICS is a development programme funded by the British government and run by six highly respected charities aiming to send young Brits out to work on their projects in developing nations around the world.
I was there for 3 months working with Restless Development, a charity that focuses on harnessing the power of youth to lift people out of poverty. Once in Zambia I was assigned to live in a small rural community, teaching in the local primary school, clinic and local youth and community groups. Our focus was sexual and reproductive health, financial literacy and civic participation.
Although I have completed my stint in Zambia I’ve got plenty more work to do. I have made a commitment to continue the work I started in Zambia back here in the UK. I look forward to your feedback and any questions or suggestions you may have.
